This paper seeks to discover the process of forming the coordinates of the existing political studies space using futures research through trend analysis method in order to pave the way for achieving the desired political studies in the Islamic Republic of Iran with a prescriptive approach. With a glance at the analysis of the trend and the current state of political studies, we will find that this field of knowledge, despite the astonishing progress of the Islamic Republic of Iran with the focus on experimental sciences, is taking place and conditions are inconsistent with the lofty goals. The Islamic Republic of Iran has. For this purpose, two macro-divergent and convergent trends of desirable political studies are expressed and the ideas of its formation and propulsions are discussed without elaborating on its examples. The trends of Westernism, Orientalism and Nationalism as divergent trends as well as the trend of Islamic civilization as a convergent trend will be examined in this article. In the continuation of the process of the educational system in the country, it should be examined separately. Based on this trend analysis, long-term and medium-term futures for political studies can also be imagined. The analysis of knowledge trends in the system of the Islamic Republic of Iran indicates that the first step of this ups and downs is to understand the current situation, to see the desired point and solutions in a timely and appropriate manner to transition from the current situation to the desired.
