Abstract
security, and stability. Objective: Justice, as one of the greatest human ideals and a fundamental concept in philosophy and religion, has long played a significant role in individual and social life and has maintained its enduring significance throughout human history. This study aims to explain the position of justice in the thought of Martyr Motahari and to answer the question of how justice is conceptualized and positioned in his intellectual framework.
Methodology: This study employs a descriptive-analytical method using documentary and library-based data collection. The relevant views of Martyr Motahari on justice were examined and analyzed, and the findings were organized into four main axes: general concepts, foundations, solutions, and consequences.
Findings: The findings indicate that justice in Martyr Motahari’s thought encompasses concepts such as balance, equality, rejection of discrimination, and respect for individual rights. Justice can be examined at two levels: “divine justice,” which includes three dimensions—generative, legislative, and eschatological justice—and “human justice,” which comprises two dimensions: individual and social justice. The findings further demonstrate that factors such as oppression, autocracy, the presence of incompetent individuals within the structure of governance, and a lack of belief in justice constitute major obstacles to its realization.
Conclusion: The realization of justice in society can contribute to raising public awareness, ensuring the stability and continuity of governance, reducing poverty, and fostering social solidarity, security, and sustainable social stability. Therefore, justice occupies a fundamental position in Martyr Motahari’s thought and requires attention to its divine, individual, and social dimensions.
