چکیده
هدف: این پژوهش فهم آثار و نتایج مدرنیزاسیون پهلوی دوم درمناطق دوردست و حاشیه‌ایی نظیر کردستان است. چرا که شاه مدعی بود قصد دارد با اجرای برنامه‌های عمرانی-اقتصادی، تمام ایران را متحول سازد. این برنامه‌ها با وجود برخورداری شاه از دلارهای نفتی و حمایت‌های آمریکا اما نتوانست ایران را در ردیف کشورهای توسعه یافته قرار دهد. اهداف سیاسی- نظامی، دخالت‌های مستقیم خود شاه و هیأت حاکمه، ترجیح توسعه صنعتی- تکنولوژی بر توسعه کشاورزی، بی‌توجهی به مناطق محروم و شتاب در توسعه را می‌توان از عواملی دانست که برنامه‌های عمرانی را از اثربخشی مطلوب دورساخت.
روش‌شناسی پژوهش: در این پژوهش تلاش شده است با روش تاریخی- تحلیلی با استفاده از منابع کتابخانه‌ایی به این پرسش پاسخ داده شود که کردستان به‌عنوان یکی از استان‌های محروم و پیرامونی که ظرفیت‌های طبیعی زیادی برای توسعه دارد چه جایگاهی در برنامه‌های عمرانی پهلوی دوم داشت؟ و اجرای این برنامه‌ها چه نتایجی در کردستان به بار آورد؟
یافته‌ها: یافته‌های پژوهش نشانگر آنست؛ سرشت تمرکزگرا، مشورت ناپذیر، فردمحور و رانتیر دولت پهلوی فرصت توسعه و آبادانی را از استان های قومی- پیرامونی مثل کردستان سلب نمود.
نتیجه‌گیری: در نتیجه، مدرنیزاسیون پهلوی در کردستان عواقب منفی و ضدتوسعه‌ایی نظیر گسترش حاشیه ‌نشینی در شهرها، تعمیق فاصله طبقاتی، تشدید ناسیونالیسم قومی و حکمرانی امنیتی را رقم زد.
